Learning Target: Students will understand how to combine like terms
Task: Students will create a representation of an expression in Minecraft.
Lesson Setting: Students have been hired to architect an exposition center to display livestock from local farmers.
Materials: Students were given a task card to display work and turn in at the end of class.
Time: students were given about 30 minuets to complete this challenge few finished the build, and most finished the task card.
Setup: Students operated in their own world, i recommended blocks of grass.
What worked:
- formating the task card enabling students to write out each expression under each word set.
- using the printed images of farm animals on the card to represent terms in the written expression.
What could have gone better
- More than 45 minutes to complete the task.
