Planning a Simulation Lesson Using a Template

Below are guided instructions to curate your lessons in a virtual environment using Minecraft Education.

The Process – setup for creating content

I have found that the  “best practice” for creating the content for the lesson is to start typing out the worksheet the students will turn in, then on page two, start typing the dialogue that goes into the NPC or sign. There are two reasons for this;

    • Spell check; there is no spell check in Minecraft.
    • Save all the dialogue in a Word document in case you need it again. In Minecraft, you cannot move an NPC. You can only remove it from the world and place a new NPC similar to it. Then paste the dialogue into the text box.

When I started making these lessons, I would type the dialogue directly into NPCs or signs, only to move them later and retype the text into the NPC. I ended up creating more work for myself.

The button below will download a document that gives a good formate for creating a tangible resource that supplements the lesson.
